Honeymoon and Caladesi Islands State Parks - Honeymoon Island is a haven for nature lover, swimmers, sun bathers and hikers. The beaches are soft and white and the warm surf of the Gulf is almost always gentle. You can walk for miles, whether on the beach or on the trails. It's also a bird lovers and shell seekers paradise. There is a picnic area with shelters and tables for great family relaxation. The new playground is completely ADA accessible for both children and adults. There are two cafes on Honeymoon Island with gift shops for souvenirs or sundries, plus beach umbrella and kayak rentals. Bathhouses are available for changing. Entry to the park is just $8 per car, up to eight people. Fido is also welcome at the park in the designated dog beach. Caladesi Island State Park - The island paradise is accessible by ferry seven days a week. Names the #1 Beach in the US in 2008, it features perfect white sandy beaches, nature trails, picnic areas, a gift shop and snack bar, and changing facilities. It's the perfect opportunity to get away from it all and experience one of the most natural and beautiful beaches in the world. Water activities- enjoy sailing, kayaking, swimming, boating, jet-skiing, fishing and more. Kayaks and sailboats rentals are available on the Dunedin Causeway at Sail Honeymoon, www.sailhoneymoon.com Kayaks can be rented at Café Honeymoon on Honeymoon Island or at Café Caladesi on Caladesi Island. If your journey puts you in kayak on Caladesi, don't miss the trip through the mangroves. It's natural Florida at its best.
ART & HISTORY
Dunedin Fine Art Center/David L. Mason Children's Museum (www.dfac.org ) - This wonderful facility features changing art exhibits to delight and challenge your senses. The facility, located at 1143 Michigan Blvd., includes the David L. Mason Children's Art Museum is designed to make art fun for children, with interactive themes and hands-on experiences. Round out your experience with a visit to the Art Center's Palm Café and fantastic Gallery Gift Shop.
History comes alive at the Dunedin Historical Society - This window into the past is located in a 1923 Atlantic Coast Railroad Station at 349 Main Street along the Pinellas Trail. Its historical displays and exhibits change on a regular basis but always features Dunedin history and "Granny's Closet," a trip through time of toys young and older "kids" remember from their childhoods. www.dunedinmuseum.org
National Armed Services and Law Enforcement Memorial Museum - affectionately known as NASLEMM. This fantastic collection is at the heart of Dunedin and honors those who serve or have served in law enforcement and the military. It features weapons of all types and sizes, historical artifacts, a replica of "Old Sparky," Florida's retired electric chair, and a collection of police statues and figurines.
BIKING AND WALKING
Pinellas Trail - Bike, walk, roller blade or jog through the heart of Dunedin, Florida. The Rails to Trails program gave Pinellas County's former railways new life for all to enjoy. This 34-mile trail, with spurs in several areas, including one to Honeymoon Island State Park, gives residents and visitors alike an opportunity to get up, move and enjoy the outdoors. Dunedin's downtown surrounds the Pinellas Trail, and is friendly to all types of Trail users. The Hammock Park - Just after Florida joined the Union in 1845, a
team of surveyors were mapping out the State and identified the borders
of the truly unique, natural environment. Their survey's North and
South borders of the Hammock still exist today. This fantastic park is
home to over 300 trees, shrubs, flowers and animals, as well as over 100
species of birds. It's natural Florida setting is one you don't want to
miss. Picnic, stroll, or hike through trails, both natural shell or
elevated boardwalk, and experience Florida as it was decades ago.
Dunedin Golf Club - If golf is your passion, this is a spot you don't want to miss. The Club is the original home of the PGA, from 1945 to 1963. Looking for a FREE water activity to delight the little ones? Check out Dunedin's Kiwanis Sprayground, 1937 Ed Eckert Drive. This interactive children's water playground, open daily from 9 AM to sunset, is filled with several water features to "beat the summer heat." The colorful, action-packed features spray, gush, dump and pour water from a variety of whimsical devices. Kids can dodge a crocodile that shoots water out of its mouth; circle the tumble buckets and dance in and out of the mushroom water shower cascading at the end of the park.
The main attractions are "Nessie," Dunedin's own version of the Loch Ness Monster, with multiple sprays and an aqua run slide in the middle of the park. The Kiwanis Sprayground has over 3,000 sq. ft. of play area and is ADA accessible. The sprayground has a non-slip surface, no standing water and includes a fully automatic system of spray and streaming water features with a re-circulating water system. The deck perimeter has shade structures and spectator benches. The facility also has a lightning detection system with automatic water shut off and security cameras.
How about a game of bowling at the Dunedin Lanes? This retro bowling facility will give the whole family hours of fun. A restaurant and lounge will round out your experience.

Clearwater Marine Aquarium - Learn all about Florida's natural environment. See Bottlenose Dolphins show off unusual learned and natural behaviors. Meet "Winter," a rescued dolphin who has garnered international fame. She was rescued from a crab trap as a juvenile and has learned to swim with the help of a prosthetic fluke. The movie, "Dophin Tale," is her story. This facility also features exhibits highlighting loggerhead sea turtles, stingrays, river otters, and native fish. Dali Museum - Visit one of the most impressive collections of the works of Salvador Dali in St. Petersburg. This amazing exhibit features rich works from Dali's career, 1904-1989. The Florida Aquarium - See fierce sharks in a natural coral reef setting with endangered sea turtles, moray eels and more! Take a journey down the Wetlands Trail past playful river otters, alligators, free -flighted birds and 14-ft invasive Burmese Pythons. A favorite for the whole family is the ray and starfish touch tanks. Encounter marine animals found throughout the world.

Toronto Blue Jays & Dunedin Blue Jays - Baseball is played in Dunedin from March through September thanks to the Blue Jays at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, 337 Douglas Avenue. The Toronto Blue Jays, www.torontobluejays.com take the field each March for Spring Training, offering great baseball action in an intimate ballpark setting. The minor league Dunedin Jays, part of the Florida State League, take the field from April through September, www.dunedinbluejays.com These young players offer exciting action at family-friendly prices. Want to catch some professional action while you are visiting Dunedin? No problem! In 45 minutes to an hour, you can watch the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
